Agency

We're not here
to be average.

We’re here to make some noise. We come to the table with equal parts humility and bravado. We haven’t found our impossible yet, and we don’t plan to.

Diversity in thought and people is really where our magic lies. Different voices from different lives and different perspectives all putting their best ideas forward. Great work doesn’t happen between the hours of 9-5. It happens in the shower, on the drive in, laying in bed, and when you least expect it. Nobody here is above being wrong, having a bad idea, or starting over.

Since 2015 each one of us has brought that philosophy to every corner of the agency. In the process, we’ve won a few awards, made a few waves, and met some great friends along the way.

WHO MAKES UP THIS PLACE

Creative Director

Check out these .gifs. They’re super-cool. Mine blinks. Shoutout to Han, whose bio is below. I get zero credit for these because I can’t even draw stick figures.

Truth is, a lot of the great work happens here because of the people in the biographies below. So mine is probably the least important, but if you really wanna know:

I was born in Annapolis, grew up in Pasadena (not that one), and I’ve been doing creative for a long time — ever since I was fifteen or so. My first job was editing a Federal Student Aid commercial. I bought golf clubs to celebrate and used them twice. Since then I’ve done a lot more stuff and still never used those golf clubs.

Account Executive

I like to think of myself as a proud adopted son of Baltimore. I landed in the Mid-Atlantic after graduating from Michigan State University and have enjoyed the area ever since. I bring a Midwestern sensibility to Kapowza: pounding the pavement, setting up meetings, and making sure creative is done on time; all the while looking out for the client’s best interests.

You’re just as likely to see me out at a networking event, playing Lawn Darts in Patterson Park (exact location redacted in case Lawn Darts are illegal), or volunteering with local non-profits. I also support the local advertising community by serving on the board of the AAFB.

My first job was at a Comic Book Store and my most recent is this one, which makes sense because my bio is on this website.

Christopher chester

Designer

I’m a Baltimore-born designer, who loves the city. I studied Graphic Design at Maryland Institute College of Art. I spend my time in the Baltimore DIY music scene supporting friends. If I were a genre of music it would be house music. An avid print collector, I love traditional print media, whiskey sours, cats, and experimenting with new concepts. When not creating, I can be found at Cylburn Aboretum or Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area.

Designer

I’m a Designer and Illustrator originally from beautiful beachy Southern California. I graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2015 and decided to make Baltimore my new home. Between reading physics articles and whipping up Ecuadorian food from family recipes, I always stay busy. On the weekend you’ll most likely find me eating a large bowl of  Phở or watching Curb Your Enthusiasm.
